Aberchirder & Marnoch
Community Council

The main task of the Community Council is to act as a link between local people and Aberdeenshire Council together with other bodies and agencies such as the Health Service, Police etc..  It can pass on questions and comments from members of the public to the Local Authority, either directly or via the locally elected District Councillor.

The Community Council also organises projects to improve the quality of life for local people, although most projects are run by the Community Association -  a group it helped set up in 1996.  One key annual project run by the Community Council involves providing and maintaining flower tubs and hanging baskets around the town.

Both the Community Council and the Community Association are committed to working together for the benefit of everyone in the Marnoch area and this is helped by having an overlapping membership.

In 1998 the Community Council obtained a coat-of-arms for Aberchirder and Marnoch.  This acts as an insignia to be used to advertise our area and is used (with Community Council permission only) on stationery, flags, signs and other notifications.
