This woollen blanket was produced sometime in the 1930s by Mrs Milne on a loom which was housed in a room at 45 South Street, immediately adjacent to the Commercial Hotel. 45 South Street included a shop and weaving business within the house. Betty Bremner recalls that in the 1930's, Mrs Milne sold lemonade and biscuits in her shop - you could get a packet of 6 big Abernethy biscuits for 3d. In the summer months, Mrs Milne sold gooseberries from her garden for 1d per poke.
