The pair-cased pocket watch back plate is engraved with the number 365535 and the name J B Law, Aberchirder.
Both silver cases bear a BIRMINGHAM ASSAY MARK 1891-1899 with the letter Y identifying it as 1898. Makers initials R S are also engraved.
The watch is wound by a key through a hole in the outer casing.
