Whitton, who lived in Ferniebrae, South Street, Aberchirder, ran a medical practice
before World War One. He was Captain of the local Volunteers and ultimately became a Lieutenant - Colonel in the 6th Gordon Highlanders. He was a member of Aberchirder Town Council and had several terms as Provost from 1907 - 1919, with a break for war service with the Royal Army Medical Corps in home training camps. |
