AUCHINTOUL HOUSE - 1970's

|
Auchintoul was originally a towerhouse built in the late 16th century though very little of the original building remains. General Alexander Gordon added a wing to it in 1712. He was the uncle of Alexander Gordon who founded the village of Aberchirder. The house was gutted and large areas of the building demolished after a fire in the 1980's but the bulk of what remained has been beautifully restored by the Gisselbaek family. |
