LONDON MARATHON RUNNER
![]() |
Neil Davidson, North Street, took part in the 25th London Marathon this month and raised £1200 for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. He completed the course in 4hrs 54mins. Though he beat his target of 5hrs, he said he could have done better but was reasonably satisfied considering the heat of the day. Neil (49) has now completed 13 London Marathons, his best time being 3hrs 51mins 14 years ago. He has also taken part in Aberdeen, Glasgow and New York Marathons. Due to the poor weather and high winds over recent weeks, he did most of his training in the Cleanhill Woods. Running circuits of approximately 1 mile each, he had bottles of water strategically placed to keep his fluid level up. On one occasion he completed 20 circuits! |
