CLEANHILL WOODLAND WALKS
|
The Community
Association recently made a successful application for a
grant from the Shell Small Grants Scheme, administered by
the Aberdeenshire Community Planning Partnership. The
£800 award paid for most of the cost of scraping accumulated
dead vegetation off about 500 metres of path on the south
side of Cleanhill Wood and at the 'crossroads' near the
reservoir.

|
As can be seen from the above photographs, the dead vegetation on the pathway made walking difficult in wet weather. |
|
|
The underlying hard
surface has now been revealed and this should make walking in
wet weather much safer than it has been for some time for the
many people of all ages who walk round the Hill. There are
some rough stretches at present but these will dealt with as
soon as possible.

| In the longer term, the Association plans to apply for funding for a much larger project to provide a good walking surface for all of the major paths. | |
