90 YEARS YOUNG
|
Betty Walker - Born 10 July 1918 Betty Walker celebrated her 90th birthday when the family organised a party in Whitehills. Betty was very much the hard working 'Minister's wife' when her husband, the late Eddie, was Church of Scotland Minister at Marnoch from 1959 to 1984. She is seen below leading off the Grand march at her party with her son Leslie, followed by her other son Ally and his wife Jacqui. In the picture below right, accompanied by her 'boys', Betty sings, "Moonlight on the Colorado". This is one of her all time favourite songs and the same trio used to sing it regularly in Foggie. During the party rendition, there was not a dry eye in the house. Betty later enjoyed a surprise lunch in the Fife Lodge Hotel where around 20 of her old Foggie friends met her to celebrate and reminisce of times gone by. |
