BIRTHDAY PARTY BENEFITS LOCAL CAUSES

Presentation to Banff Academy CSU

Thanks to two Aberchirder families, three education units were presented with cheques to help boost funds.

Carol Andrew and Graham Groundwater held a joint 40th birthday party in Aberchirder Bowling Club and asked relatives and friends to make donations to local causes in lieu of presents. The result was that 300 was donated to the Curriculum Support Unit (CSU) at Banff Academy, 150 to the the CSU at Banff Primary School and 150 to the Child Development Team at Turriff.

Pictured above at the presentation to Banff Academy CSU are front (from left): Mark Groundwater and Bronwyn Andrew, the son and daughter of those celebrating their 40th birthdays and CSU representatives Kayleigh Devlin and Ashley Irvine.  Fellow pupils are seen behind, looking on.

ABERCHIRDER PHARMACY

From 6th February, the business will be in the hands of the new owner Samantha Melrose (right of picture) and it will be renamed Aberchirder Pharmacy.

Sam already has a pharmacy in Peterhead and therefore she will not be present in Aberchirder at all times.  The new resident pharmacist,  Sandra McCulloch (left of picture), will manage the shop in Sam's absence.

There will be no changes to the services currently provided but refurbishment of the entire shop is proposed and plans are already well advanced.  Part of the adjoining house will be taken into the shop premises, a consulting room provided, a new dispensary created and a complete refit of the shop will all take place as soon as practicable.
